Living With Sickle Cell Anemia

It have been awhile since I mention my illness,to it surprise me last week and broke my spirit at same time. But I know God is all I need.It started with me getting nasty cold, which turn out be bronchitis with lil pneumonia! Im like serious on bronchitis, just went through it the month before.I couldn’t hardly move,so that was my notice to make my way to evil place! God Bless me with some good nurses and doctor while in ER!  I did have a long wait, which my poor body hated, and germs spread! You would think peep would cover mouth, but nope! As you all know, im finally home since MondAy afternoon! Lets just say,my body is in for a fight of my life again. I rather not go into detail. If I refuse to take my meds, im killing myself! But come on, all meds have bad sides of them! I almost went back to hospital Tuesday, I was in so much pain! Hurt move, talk, think, cry! God gave me strength to fight without the hospital! Im still in some pain, but not as bad as early in the week! Good weather, and I cant enjoy it:( I have update doctor appointment next week, plus to get recheck on labs and xray really? Labs understabdable, but umm u sent me home saying things look better! No smart comment at the moment! Turn out I needed antiobodies, which wasn’t mention to me before you discharge me! Thinking I need a new primary doctor! Im lil lazy to do the searching right now, but dont feed me bs and then have to eat your words later 🙂 All the prayers, comments touch my heart in so many ways. I cant have transfusions, to everything is cleared. I left hospital at 7.2! Another rough journey, im praying ill make it through once again. Makes you wonder how some people become doctors when you educationing them. I did have two big idiots as doctors.

I blog for many reasons, the love of writing, to inspire and touch someone life. No matter what I'm going through in my life. It's a get away when my SC becomes to much for me to handle. I love to get carry away in MY WORLD! I'm on a JOURNEY to discover myself. God Bless! :)

  1. I know about people not covering their mouths. I tell them to. I get sick easy with lupus. I don’t need their germs. You know the words after you read side effects. Your doctor believes the benefits out weigh the risk. Honestly we become educated with our illness unless the doctor specializes in our illness we do end up understanding and having more knowledge. Also we know what works or not for us. When they take my blood I always tell them to use the blue needle because it’s small and my veins are thin. They get mad becaue it takes longer to fill the tube. Glad you’re home and I hope you get stable soon.

    1. So true indeed Kim, they use to hate see me coming! Im thankful for my port, the abuse I went through, was so for the birds! My primary doctor going hate to see me coming next week, ill look and not speak! Yeah you right about cover your mouth. Best I stay stuck at home, which im hating, but I know got protect myself! Thank you for understanding what we do go through ..God Bless You

  2. I am happy you are home, but I pray for your healing. As the weather changes so it affects you differently. I have been sick all week and my body was tormented with much pain, could hardly get out of bed, shoulders, arms, legs, neck and my head all had me going in circles. its getting warm down here in Georgia, and the barometric pressure changes, and really affects all that I can do. The pollen is so think when I go outside my black car looks green. And with COPD, it messes with my breathing, and I have respiratory problems that begin on top of everything else. The MS rears it head with a week long episode and the meds help, I ride it out with prayer and eating right! When our immune systems have to fight so much, it becomes hard as we become weak. But our faith must stay strong. I do not want to go away too fast, but I do look forward to the time when this cell of flesh, will pass and I will be in a new body. Your strength and courage is always inspiring, stay strong and you will still have blessings to be thankful for! I am sending you a blanket of prayers your way. God bless you always!

  3. Oh, PJ, I’m so sorry I’m reading this late…things have been crazy here and I haven’t had much time for reading. I pray and pray for you to be comfortable and for healing…my daughter had a few bumps last week, too, where she ended up in ER…she came home with us, then we had fun at her UC event on Saturday. She’s okay now, but it will be rocky off and on…anyway, try to hang in there and I’m going to try to catch up on your posts, too…hugs and blessings, my friend…
