Day 4-7, Living With Sickle Cell Disease

I do hope everyone had a good weekend and Easter. JESUS IS THE REASON. I’m still in the hospital, I haven’t got the okay to go home, so hoping to get it in the morning. Thank You all for the prayers and kind words of encouragement. The last time I posted about the hospital I receive 1 unit of blood, it was touch and go for a while because my count didnt wont to go up. I was so happy to hear it went up, but still low. I’m hoping it be 8 by the morning. I guess when they come around in the morning and wake me out my sleep I shall find out. Everything still not top-notch, but I’m alive and that all that matter. I was really shock that I got sick so soon and had to get transfusion when I just got one a few weeks ago. I was at the point of throwing in the towel, because I was just tired of hearing my blood count was low and like it wasn’t going to go anywhere. I must say I actually enjoying all the rest I’m getting, gave me time to catch up on homework when I had the strength to go there. 🙂 I have had some good nurses while I’m here so that always a plus. Have met some new one’s as well, and met some ole one’s I met long time ago. I’m not in much pain as I was when I came in, just a little every now and then.  I hope I didn’t leave anything out. I must say Im so thankful to have my port, because I know I wouldnt be able to handle getting poke and stuck when it came to getting blood work done! God Bless Each & Everyone Of You 🙂

  2. I was sad to see you were still in the hospital PJ. Praying like crazy for your blood count to come up, too and you can get home to your family tomorrow! I was also sad to know you were ready to throw in the towel sweetie, it is just so frustrating. I can’t blame you for getting just fed up with the low blood count and being sick, I know I would be myself. But, you seemed to be doing OK and it was a blessing to hear you had nice nurses. That can make all the difference, and you were getting the rest you so needed and caught up on some homework…Well, you turned the bad into good! I’m also so thankful for you having the port installed. I am keeping you in my thoughts and just praying overtime PJ, hoping for the good news tomorrow. Sorry this is so long, but you know I do get pretty wordy, don’t I? That is cause for a smile, I just never change with getting everything said! I am sending off lots more hugs, love and another smile. 🙂 God Bless!

  4. Sis, I’m sorry that you were in the hospital for Easter. My baby girl was in the hospital for 4 days a few weeks ago as well, so my heart and prayers go out to you. I’m happy that you have a staff that is working to bring your numbers up. Have you been able to get in touch with your new doctor?

Actually yes, his being at the hospital with me during the whole thang, and when they got the okay to admit me he call like 50 million times to talk to my nurse. Its good when a doctor take his work home, shows how dedicated he truly is! God Bless 🙂

  5. Good morning my sister.
I pray all is well with you this day that the Lord has made. My mind was on you and I just wanted to drop in to say hi and let you know that I am still praying for you healing. I pray God’s abundance of healing, love and prosperity over your life right now in the name of Jesus. I pray for peace that surpass all understanding for you on this morning. I pray for wisdom, guidance, power, knowledge and understanding this morning.

Continue to be encouraged. Continue to let God use you as He already is doing and watch God! He is going to take you places you never dreamed.
