Jacob was running for his life and going towards Haran (means “very dry place”), and when it began to get dark he laid his head on a stone and went to sleep. God revealed himself to him in a dream and gave Jacob a promise that established the course of his life! The next day, Jacob pours oil on the stone and calls the place Bethel (house of God).
Listen!
1. When all hell is breaking loose, sometimes the most anointed thing you can do is rest.
2. Dare to dream dangerous dreams! What God told Jacob was dangerous in light of his current circumstance. Your circumstance is subject to change!
3. God is working right in the midst of your adversity! Jacob said, “Surely the Lord is in this place and I did not know it (Gen 28:16).” When he awoke, he called the place Bethel. The hand of God on your life will cause you to know his promise and power right in the middle of your dryest and most difficult seasons.
