As I was laying in the hospital flipping through the channels for something to watch to pass time, I came across the show Love & HipHop, I believe I got the name correct. It made me think of many shows sorta like it such as the bachelor and bachelorette show and many more. I was going to do a post on this awhile back, but it totally slip my mind. I ask myself why do we have to come on television to find love or to show case our love for our partner? Is it that serious? As I was watching the show you get to see how the ladies act all out-of-pocket towards each other over the guys, all I can do is shake my head. Sad thing about this, I only watch it when I’m in the hospital and never at home. My other thing goes to we complain about money problems, but somehow we have enough money to do reality t.v, is something wrong with the picture or am I over thinking the situation. Do love truly come at a cost, that we not seen the whole picture right in front of our eye’s? Now I’m not just saying only the ladies act all out-of-pocket, so guys don’t think you all or innocent because you’re not! Just wanted to throw that little information in there. I know it probably seem like I’m all over the place with the post, but I truly wanted to get this post up and share my thoughts and to hear what you all had to say on the matter at hand. Maybe I’m the only person who feel like this about television shows base on love or people looking for love. Honestly I could say so much on this topic, but then it would be a book instead of a post.
I love to hear from my fellow followers, so do share your opinion/thoughts on this situation. I surely can’t wait to hear from ya’ll. If I have forgotten something, I make sure to comment to your question.

Hi PJ! You must have known I would have plenty to say on this subject. I simply think those shows are awful and no place to find love. It really is pitiful the way they act to each other and right on national TV, making such fools out of themselves. Embarassing their families and friends, too! They are fighting and all with each for the girl or guy on the show trying to find their life’s mate. I just couldn’t hang out watching one of the shows like some people do. When you were in the hospital you were bored, stuck in bed and looking for something to watch. I did check the shows out and they are all about publiciity is my other thought. You made such a good point about the money being tossed around on the shows, too. It’s a sin to waste up money on that stuff, when it could be used for charities or something good. You weren’t all over the place with this post, but I might be in my comment. lol 🙂 I get so disgusted with those type of shows and where is their self respect? It’s desperate times if they think they need to go on a TV show to find love is the other thing that is just crazy. Maybe some of them are trying to make it in show business and see that as a way to get there? I could say a lot more, too on the subject, but it would be a book…Oops, another long comment from me! But did you ever doubt it? I am anxious to see what other readers have to say on this subject. It was a wonderful post PJ! 🙂

My My My Gabby, I love the way you think. You better get out my head, you said some of the other things I was going to throw into the post! I was like I can’t wait to Gabby read the post, I just know she going to have a lot to say on this! I’m back in bed, started feeling a little bed. So I’m in the bed for the night! 🙂 YAY! Yea you or right, some do come on the shows, just to get there name out there. I must say I like to watch my ole shows like Matlock, Heat of the Night and Walkter Texas Ranchers,and some of the new shows. I’m not much on the Reality tv shows to be honest! I’m just like why so beautiful woman want to go out this way! I guess I’ll never truly understand. The respect goes out the window, and its a shame. I can’t wait to see what others have to say on the topic as well! God Bless YOu 🙂

I really don’t think a Tv show is where to find love. Marketers are using all kinds of scheme to reach people’s minds. The media is a way to influence the crowd. People have to be careful about what they watch and what they believe!

I do not watch those shows either! I don’t understand why women do what they do half the time anyways. It is like some of them have no respect for themselves. My Hubby and I do watch Survivor, every year say I may not get into again and yet we have watched every season. I am not a real tv person so I suppose if I follow one mindless, silly show maybe that is ok. haha Survivor has people on there, men and women that would sell their soul to win a million dollars. I just don’t get it! Where is their pride, their dignity? The crap that is on tv now! MY Hubby and I just shake our heads. As long as women will keep taking it off and flaunting it there is always someone out there that will give them the publicity. Okay… I need to stop!! I too could go on and on. TV has changed so much throughout the years and to the worse. I have to add I never look down at whatever people want to watch on tv….to each his own.

So glad to see more people share there opinion on this topic with me. I liike what you had to say, and I say just like me and Gabby we could go on and on with our comments! lol! You made some good points! I even ask a guy friend about the shows, he says he don’t watch them either and don’t see the point of them. I agree, I have tried to see the point, but nothing comes to me! I believe we should hold on to our RESPECT,not lose it for whatever reason! God Bless 🙂

My grandmother used to say that love that is spread all over the streets gets too diluted to do any good at home! This pretty much says what I think about those “reality” TV-L-UU-U-V shows!

I know these shows are bad for the brain ultimately but it entertains me and before I got the cable snatched out of our house I was addicted. I think many people are addicted to reality TV.

What a great post and question! I concur completely with Gabby (stalking her comment) 🙂 as I am not into reality t.v. at all. There are so many horrible shows, i.e. Wife Swap, etc. As Gabby said, it’s all for publicity and money. I have heard good things about Survivor (read Renee’s comment, too), except for the drama parts, but, still, we’re just into them. I truly dislike reality t.v. and so does my hubby. I’m not much into t.v. anymore, mainly good movies…short answer, I don’t think those shows are where one would find true, lifetime love~ xx

Had a lot of time to think about the question while I was in the hospital, mainly to get my thoughts together. I never really got into some of the shows, but I watch that one a few times that I mention in the post. Only when I was in the hospital and I think to myself really is it that serious. God Bless 🙂
